Germinate your spirit…

Yep, it was now one year ago that we did it, and we’ll do it again this year !

A week of skillshares, for everybody that’s interested, so don’t hesitate to come, to bring your worckshop… Because obviously, the program is open !

The place where we’ll spend the week together and "hopefully" longer is known as the ZAD (Zone d’Aménagement Différé in french, meaning something like Zone of Deferred Developement) and for us who live there, as the Zone À Défendre (Zone To Defend).
Since 40 years, the french government forces the locals to sell their houses, their land, its goal being to empty the area to build a "High Quality Environmental standard airport", a highway and a high-speed train line.
There has been and there is still a local resistance. In addition to witch there’s been, in september 2009, a callout to occupy the empty spaces entended to be destroied.
There’s now more than 25 occupied places, including houses, forests and fields as well than collectives gardens.
Some preliminary work have alrady began for the highway as well as expropriations and evictions procedures. The first evictions dates have alrady been given (and are past, without evictions until now), and there is nearly daily military and police presance, either to protect archeological, drilling or others worckers, or to put pressure (road checks, helicopters, evictions)…
So it’s possible that it would disturb that skillshares week as well as it disturbs our everyday life, and we’ll deal with it!

There will be various workshops happeningin different places on the ZAD, among witch:

Two workshops happentng during the whole week:

• Building a windmill
• Forging

Worckshops happening at some detreminated moments:

• Soap and washing liquid making
• Botanical walk (eatable and/or comestible plants, etc.)
• Gypsography
• Screen printing
• Natural Dyes & wool crafts
• Informatic security
• Climbing and building of a platform in the trees
• Construction of a floating platform on a lake
• Batucada
• Pirate radio
• Stars walk
• Writing short stories & poems, followed by Illustration of short stories
• History of the ZAD
• Seeds sharing

2012-04-04: Just one more week, and the skillsharing will be upon us! Before you make your way here, here’s some things io bring along:

• sleeping bag
• roll matt
• tent

There will be 3 collective vegan meals a day with mostly locally produced vegetables, so you don’t need to bother bringing your own food.
Donate whatever you can afford but there’s a suggested donation fo €6/day to cover food+energy costs.
Also, things like olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cofee, tea and jam are things that get really expensive, especially in big amounts. If you can pocket some and bring it along, this would be really appreciated!

So its spring ! Its time to leave our caves , to dry our clothes and , hey , why not have a wash ?! But it is also the time to stretch out our tentacles for a litle bit ot treechlimbing , gathering wild plants and do constructions of all kinds . So , anyway, why dont we share all that ? Our knowledges , our skills and our great ideas ?

Well its just the time ! We propose you a week dedicated to skillsharing in the beautiful month of april.

On the program : Lots of workshops proposed by a lot of humans and places on the ZAD (a zone fighting agaenst the construction of an airport , 25km north of Nantes, France).

So come one , come all ! And specially, come and make youre owne workshop if yppu whant to. There will be signs indicating the way from la Paquelais.
