Call out for testimonies/ stories from the struggle

Sunday 20 January 2013

All the versions of this article: [English] [Español] [français]

During the week organised by the inhabitants, resisting against the airport and its world, we would like to collect pieces of the memory of this struggle.

- Because history is not the priviledge of a few university professors,
- Because right here, right now, we are making history by our resistance,
- Because we must not rely on the official history, which is the history of the state, to keep traces of our fight,
- Because it is up to us to share our memories and to collect oral memories before they get lost into nothingness,
- Because to imagine the future in the perspectives of the struggle, we must remember the strength and the weaknesses that were ours in the past,
- Because each one of us has a piece of memory in his/her mind and a piece of history in his/her hands.

We need your testimonies !

We invite you to write your best and worst memories of this struggle on a piece of paper. You can leave these papers in boxes that will be available at the welcome point of the Hors Contrôle field, Les Fosses Noires, la Chateigne, and at the library of Notre-Dame-des-landes. You can also send an e-mail to us at zad@riseup.net (putting « témoignage pour la semaine » in the title). These testimonies will be used as material for a collective discussion during the week organised by the inhabitants : photo exhibition, audio recordings of inhabitants and farmers, a night spent together sharing our history through recounting these memories.
