Determined resistance continues against attempts to evict occupants from the ZAD (zone threatened by the Notre-Dame-des-Landes airport project) as the area is becoming increasingly militarized.

Le Sabot, a market garden plot which was cleared and planted collectively in May 2011, continues to be occupied by protesters.

This morning the police began the eviction of Rohanne forest with the destruction of a collective cabin and the forcible removal of some protesters from trees. However, others are still resisting from the branches thanks to support on the ground and some rousing samba music.

We are receiving supportive messages and news of all sorts of actions of solidarity from just about everywhere. There are tags in Poitiers, banners near Vienne, a demonstration was held at St Affrique, protests in Rennes, as well as messages of solidarity from Atenco to Stuttgart, not to mention those from all over France. There is also a rally planned in front of the prefecture building in Nantes this evening at 7pm.

Events to come: Saturday, 20 October: 12 o’clock midday at the Pointe (le Temple de Bretagne) – a meeting of opponents of the project to discuss possible actions to advance the struggle. Later this month: announcement of the date of the prospective demonstration for the reoccupation of the ZAD on our website, zad.nadir.org.
